Questions, answered plainly

If yours is not here, call any of the three owners directly — we would rather answer it ourselves than have you guess.

For property owners

What does hosting a machine cost me?

Nothing. We buy the machine, we pay for all site improvement and installation fees, and we cover servicing, restocking, cash handling and customer support. You are leasing us roughly 20 sq ft of space — you are not buying equipment or taking on inventory.

How much will I be paid?

We pay a fixed monthly rental rate for the space, agreed with you in writing before anything is installed. Because it depends on the location, it is one of the first things we work through on the call rather than something we can quote sight unseen.

It is fixed, which means it does not fluctuate with how much ice the machine happens to sell in a given month.

Who pays for the water and electricity?

That is agreed up front alongside the rent and written into the partnership agreement, so there are no surprises after installation. Ask us about it on the first call — we will give you a straight answer for your site.

What kind of businesses are a good fit?

Marinas, beaches, gas stations, grocery stores, shopping centers, campgrounds and similar high-traffic businesses that could use fully automated, passive, 24/7 accessible ice and water vending.

If you are not sure whether yours qualifies, the 30-second fit check will give you a read, or just send it to us.

Will my staff have to do anything?

No. Installation, stocking, cleaning, servicing and sales are all handled by us. There is nothing to train anyone on and nothing to restock.

Does hosting a machine compete with the ice I already sell?

For most of our partners it replaces a low-margin, high-hassle line item. You stop paying wholesale for bagged ice, stop losing freezer space to pallets, stop absorbing melt and shrink, and stop having staff haul bags — and you start collecting rent instead. If you would rather keep selling bagged ice alongside it, that is your call, and worth raising early so we can talk it through.

Space, power & installation

How much space does the machine need?

The machine itself is 46″ wide (3 ft 9.5 in), 56″ deep (4 ft 7.5 in) and 97″ tall (8 ft 1 in) — slightly larger than a regular vending machine.

Add roughly 6″ behind it and about 2 ft on each side so we can get in for maintenance. All in, about 20 sq ft.

Does it need a sewer or drain connection?

No — water and power only. A lot of competing machines require sewage access, which rules out otherwise perfect spots. Ours can be placed anywhere we can run a water and electrical line to meet the machine's requirements.

What if water and power aren't already at the spot?

They only need to be reasonably close by — we handle getting them to the machine. All site improvement and installation fees are paid by us.

Can it go outdoors?

Our machines are placed at outdoor locations such as marinas today. Where exactly it goes on your property is part of the site walk-through — send us the location and we will work out the best spot with you.

How disruptive is the installation?

The scope depends on how far the utilities have to run, which is exactly what we scope out with you before committing to anything. We will tell you what the work involves at your site before it starts, not after.

The ice & the machine

How much ice does it hold and make?

Each machine holds about 500 lbs of ice and produces more at a rate of roughly 2,000 lbs every 24 hours. Because it is constantly making ice on location rather than waiting on a delivery, it does not run dry on the busiest weekend of the season.

What makes the ice better than delivered bagged ice?

Four things: it is made fresh on site from five-stage filtered water; it lasts up to 50% longer than competitors' delivered bagged ice; it is vended as separated cubes so nobody has to throw the bag on the ground to break it apart; and it carries ozone that helps keep coolers fresher as it melts.

The full breakdown is on the machine page.

What is the five-stage filtration?

A 10-micron sediment pre-filter, two 0.5-micron solid carbon blocks, a scale-reduction filter, and UV sterilization. It is the same approach used by large national chains such as McDonald's, and it produces an ultra-pure mineral water that tastes good and tastes consistent from machine to machine.

The water vend uses that same filtration, so a jug filled at our machine is the same quality as the ice.

Is the ozone in the ice safe?

Yes. It is there to help keep coolers fresher for longer as the ice melts, and the ice is still perfectly safe to consume.

Do customers have to buy a bag?

No. Bags are available, but customers can put a cooler straight under the chute and vend directly into it — which is better for them and means less plastic blowing around your property.

Who cleans and services it?

We do. Every machine is regularly serviced and cleaned to keep it reliable and hygienic, and they are monitored digitally so we often spot an issue before anyone on site does.

What happens if it breaks down?

It is our problem, not yours. These machines were chosen specifically because they have the fewest moving parts, which means no jams and minimal maintenance. If anything is ever wrong, call +1 (440) 567-9656.

Getting started

How do I submit a location?

Fill in the location form with the address, your business type and anything you know about expected ice volume. It takes about two minutes.

How quickly will I hear back?

One of the three owners gets back to you personally, usually within a business day. If you would rather not wait, call Alex on 216-973-6526.

Am I committing to anything by asking?

Not at all. There is no cost and no obligation. If your location is not a fit, we will tell you on the first call instead of stringing it out.

Didn't find your question?

Call an owner directly, or send the location over and ask us anything in the message box.
